Arbutin is an organic skin whitening ingredient that is extracted from the bearberry plant. It is also found in cranberry, blueberry, wheat, and in high concentration in pear skin. Arbutin inhibits the tyrosinase process, which is fundamental in the formation of melanin pigments. It is a very effective non-toxic skin lightening agent, and is excellent for the prevention of age spots.

Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate is a very stable form of vitamin C that does not degrade rapidly under normal conditions. It is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin against free radicals and environmental pollutants. It also improves the skin’s elasticity by accelerating the production of new collagen fibers for a firmer, younger-looking skin. Additionally, it is an excellent non-irritating skin whitening agent that inhibits the production of melanin for a lighter complexion and less visible age spots.

Ascophyllum nodosum, also known as Norwegian kelp, is a large brown alga that grows in the northern Atlantic Ocean. It is rich in minerals, micronutrients, organic acids, proteins, and amino acids. Ascophyllum nodosum extract has a skin lightening and depigmenting action demonstrated through its efficacy in four key stages of the skin pigmentation process. It inhibits melanin synthesis, hinders melanin pigmentation, activates the melanin elimination process by stimulating cellular renewal, and finally stimulates natural skin exfoliation to accentuate the luminosity and evenness of the complexion. It also protects cell membranes against lipid peroxidation.

Emblica officinalis or indian gooseberry, is a tree that is known for its edible fruit of the same name. In traditional Indian medicine, all parts of the plant are used in various Ayurvedic herbal preparations. Emblica officinalis extract contains high amounts of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), ellagitannins (hydrolysable tannins), and other precious substances such as flavonoids, ellagic acid, and gallic acid. Emblica officinalis extract is an excellent natural antioxidant, and it delivers a notable skin whitening action.
