We all want and desire for a flawless skin, but it does not come easy. To have a flawless skin you must do a combination of things correctly. They include things such as having a good skincare routine, making healthy lifestyle choices, and protecting your skin from harmful elements that can stress and irritate it.  Let’s now look at these factors more closely.

Building a skincare routine

We have written in the past several articles about how to build a skincare routine. Your skincare routine must include certain key steps. Cleansing your skin regularly with a gentle cleanser is the first step. Make sure that you use a gentle cleanser appropriate for your skin type. If you have dry skin is best to use a cream-based cleanser and if you have oily skin is best to use a gel-based cleanser. Applying a toner is also recommended. Applying a toner is great since it cleanses the skin even more. In addition, toners can balance your skin’s pH balance and tighten your pores.

Also try to exfoliate between 1-2 times per week. Exfoliating will allow you to get rid of the dead skin cells that have been collected on the top of your skin. In addition, exfoliating will make your complexion brighter. Applying a moisturizer is another essential part of almost all skincare routines. By applying a moisturizer that suites your skin type you will keep it hydrated and soft. Also make sure to apply sunscreen every morning even on cloudy days. Your sunscreen should have a SPF of at least 30.

Another part of a good skincare routine includes applying a night cream. A night cream can help when it comes to nourishing the skin. Try using a night cream that is rich in vitamins, fatty acids, and hydrating substances.

Healthy Diet

A healthy skin is achieved both from inside our bodies and from outside our bodies. Therefor special attention must be paid to the foods we consume. A diet that is rich both in nutrients and vitamins is essential for a healthy skin. Try eating nutrient-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables. Other nutrient rich foods that you should consume are omega 3 rich foods such as fish, nuts, and seeds. By consuming these foods, you can nourish your skin from within.

A healthy diet when it comes to skin must also include skincare antioxidants, Vitamin C, Vitamin A , green tea, cheese and eggs. Also make sure that you drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. By staying hydrated your skin can retain more moisture and give you a radiant complexion.

Lifestyle Choices

Our lifestyle and habits have a great impact on our overall health, and this is true also when it comes to the health of our skin. One of the most important lifestyle habits when it comes to a healthy skin is getting enough sleep. A healthy skin requires sufficient sleep therefor try sleeping between 7-9 hours per night. By getting sufficient sleep we can help our skin to repair itself and rejuvenate.

Another lifestyle habit that is important when it comes to a healthy skin is regularly exercising. Improving blood flow is an important part of a healthy skin. By exercising regularly, we increase blood flow. What’s more exercising also can help to keep the skin healthy by nourishing the skin.

It is also noted that stress has an impact on our skin. Therefor try managing stress since it can cause problems such as acne. You can try managing stress by stress reducing activities such as yoga, exercise, and mediation.

Smoking is another habit you should avoid. Smoking is known to damage many essential parts of our skin such as collagen and elastin. By damaging these essential parts of our skin smoking can lead to a dull skin and premature aging. Other intoxicating products such as alcohol should be avoided also. Too much alcohol is also well known to cause wrinkles on the face.

Another simple habit that we can undertake to keep our skin healthy is to avoid touching our face. When we touch our faces regularly, we are likely to transfer dirt, bacteria, and oil to the skin which can lead to breakouts.

The skincare products you use

We mentioned earlier the importance of a skincare routine and now it’s time to talk about the specific skincare products we use. When it comes to skincare products it is essential that you use products that are suited for your skin type. Therefor you should know your skin type being oily, dry or a combination skin type.

Make sure that you treat skin problems such as acne and blemishes. For example products that contain vitamin C are known to be effective for dark spots.
